NBC are set to cut their losses on Joey. The Channel Five Friends spin-off has struggled since it started. After a poor first season showing, the so-called revamp did little to reverse its fortunes.

Only four million tuned in recently, a disastrous rating by any standards. It looks like NBC will burn off the remaining episodes shot in the Summer after confirming its cancellation next month.

At least the Matt LeBlanc series lasted longer than Lisa Kudrow's show The Comeback. Another former Friend returns to network television in the fall, lets hope Matthew Perry has better luck
